Tech Tip: How to find your IP address

There are many ways of finding your IP address on either Windows or Mac. The quickest way may also be the oldest though. Using the command line on Windows and the terminal on Mac you can easily find network information including your IP address.

On Windows:

• Go to Start  and type cmd.exe then press Enter (alternatively press windows key + R then enter cmd.exe)
• In the coomand prompt type ipconfig then press Enter

On Mac:

• Open Spotlight and type terminal then press Enter
• In the terminal window type ipconfig -a then press Enter

On either operating system your IP address will be listed together with other network information.
