Tech Tip: Check browser plugins for updates

To help protect your computer from security threats it is imperative to keep your web browser updated. The third party plugins that your web browser uses also need to be updated to ensure that you are protected from vulnerabilities. Using Mozilla Plugin Check you can identify the browser plugins installed on your computer that are outdated.

The Mozilla plugin check service, while created primarily for the Firefox browser, also works with the browsers Chrome, Opera, Safari and Internet Explorer (with limited support). The service checks for installed third party browser plugins and identifies those that are outdated as well those that are up to date. Since outdated plugins can pose security threats  because of vulnerabilities and performance problems due to bugs it is highly recommended that you update these plugins.
